I was driving long the lake this week and stumbled across this place, it was a "colored" only beach in New Orleans from 1939-1965. It's overgrown and worse for the wear and only an echo of it's former self. There are some excellent WWW sites with more complete histories of the place if you are interested. There have been some recent proposals to rebuild the place as a modern day resort, but there does not seem to be much going on here. I am sure I'll be re-visiting the place in the future.
This is my third blog, and this one will more generally address my photography and not include either the self portrait project or the work from my trips to Italy.

The lost Collages April 2007
In rooting around the files tonight, looking for something else, I found these images from 2007. If I had known about them, I might have put one or more of them into the RAC exhibition. Shot with the D2x all in camera, the early work from the series. All shot out at my studio at Tyson with one of my favorite subjects.

Work from the Tyson shoot on 9/10/11
This new work was done using the rotted books from the "Tyson Book Farm" project and in camera collage with the figure all inside my studio out at Tyson. The books were shot on a product sweep using my new Profoto mono lightings and the nude was combined using my older Speedtron Black line lights. New Pocketwizzard TT1's made it all happen connected up to my D3x camera. These two new works will end up in my upcoming exhibition at the Regional Arts Center here in STL in November.
