Printing the 8x10's

 

After three year being away from the darkroom, I got in a 4 hour session making final prints off my 8x10 negs of the past two summers studio portrait work.

All mouse damaged artwork including a bunch of framed works and canvas murals. The mice have the ability to get into everything.

Winter is time for closing the studio down ad getting to those projects you just never have time for, like cleaning out all the mouse damage from the summer. spent the day in this one corner.

New Nikon Zf

 

I got the new Nikon Zf, mostly as a replacement for my Fuji XPRO2. In particular I was interested in using it with the B & W mode and early tests seem to indicate that it will be a suitable replacement for the Fuji . I have a 26mm pancake lens for it and it also is proving to be a fine walking around camera.

 I like thee last shoot of the shooting season at Tyson studio to be with Carol, my "senior muse", this year it came a little early the first week in October.

New 3.5CM lens for my S4!

 

This year I found a clean S4 rangefinder Nikon on eBay, I arranged for a CL from Dave's Camera Repair and it's a nice bit of camera jewelry. Nostalgia does have its cost, I had a Nikon SP in graduate school and just HAD to revisit that.

Bart used to say that the work will tell you everything you need to know about it, listen to your work. I have decided the fabric/figure work has run its course, at least for the present time in this manner.

Where have I been?

 I've really been doing this blog a disservice and not keeping up with it. honestly the stats for this site are not so terrific in terms of reaching out to any audience so I have been spending more time on my FLICKR and BEHANCE site and of course, still servicing my self portrait blog.  Stay tuned, there may be more to come.
